Holly Cottage & The Retreat
PRACTICAL MATTERS

The weekly charge, for Holly Cottage only, includes £10.00 towards electricity use, and £10.00 towards winter oil heating costs. We find that our guests very seldom exceed this amount of weekly energy use. We read the meters together when you arrive. On your arrival there will be a ’welcome pack’ of some delicacies (with a bottle of wine if you've been before). Linen and duvets are provided, but you may want to bring your own personal towels. We can provide personal towels if requested.

In Holly Cottage one free basket of logs is provided. You can buy logs locally. Charcoal an be provided at modest cost for the barbecue.

Both Holly Cottage and the Retreat have LCD screen TV (video player/recorders in the cottage), and DVD/CD players, hi fi and a selection of books, guides, maps, games, CDs and videos are also provided. Holly Cottage and the Retreat are non-smoking areas.

We provide leaflets and information on places of interest, both local and further afield.

We are sorry we cannot accommodate dogs. However, there is an excellent kennel 2 miles away that will let you visit your dog and take him for walks in the neighbouring fields.

The owners, Alick & Mari, live in an adjoining cottage. However, both Holly Cottage and the Retreat have their own side entrances and are completely self-contained.

If you need any further information or have questions, please no not hesitate to contact us. Travel directions will be sent on booking.

Access:
While neither property has certified wheelchair access, we can accommodate a certain level of limited mobility:

HOLLY COTTAGE is entered at ground level. On the ground floor there is a comfortable double sofa-bed in the living room. The bathroom and kitchen are also on this floor, on a level one step higher. The two double bedrooms are on the first floor, served by relatively steep stairs, with handrail. The conservatory and patio garden are at ground level.

THE RETREAT is entered by a short, gently upward sloping path from the road level, with three steps. On the lower floor there is a comfortable double sofa-bed in the living room. The bathroom and kitchen are also on this floor. The double bedroom is on the first floor, served by quite steep and narrow stairs, with handrails. There are two steps up to the garden level.

A more detailed access statement is available on request.
